Trappers On Atwood Island

Trappers is one of ten privately owned cottages on Atwood Island. An 8 acre island paradise located in southern Ontario about 3 hours north of Toronto. It is nestled in the middle of the Lower French River Provincial Park wilderness only accessible by float plane or boat. In addition to its provincial park designation, the French River has the added distinction of being nationally recognized as a Canadian Heritage River. The Canadian River System (CHRS) was established to provide recognition “to the outstanding rivers of Canada to ensure their management in such a way as to protect their heritage values and to provide for their recreational enjoyment by present and future generations of Canada.”

Atwood Island is an incorporated island owned, operated and maintained by the cottage owners. Some owners rent their cottages offering many creature comforts of home. We are happy to have you as our guests and as owners we are committed to maintaining the pristine environment and unique French River experience now and “for future generations of Canada.”
